Betty Jean Thompson, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 85.


 


Funeral services for Ms. Betty will be 2PM Friday, March 2, 2018 at Grandview Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Grimes officiating. Interment will be immediately following the service at Sunset Memorial Park with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30PM to 2PM before the service. Flowers will be accepted, or in lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Grandview Baptist Church, 2400 Forrester Road Dothan, Alabama 36301.


 


Ms. Thompson was a resident of Dothan for forty years. She was a faithful member of Grandview Baptist Church where she loved and adored the ladies of Theresea Lawrey’s Sunday School class.


 


Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Lee (Eldon) Thompson; parents, Roy and Verna Royals Roney; a brother, Louie Frank Roney; two sisters, Jo Nell Cutchall and Nina Cutchall.


 


She is survived by a daughter, Tanya (Michael) Goodson; a son, Gerald Wayne Thompson; three grandchildren, Kimberly Peak, Amy (Lee) Farmer, and Alicia Sue Scott; one brother, Charles (Betty) Roney; great grandchildren, Charlie Evans, Katelyn Farmer, Michelle Scott, Jennifer Scott, and Mason Farmer.
