Ms. Carol Anne Hatcher, age 75, of Dothan, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, following a brief battle with Alzheimer’s.

Born March 3, 1949, in Dothan to the late Eunice and Royce Hatcher, she was a lifelong resident of Dothan.  Carol had a special love for her family, church, pups, and Alabama football.  One of her favorite days of the year was the day of the National Peanut Festival parade and the family gathering that followed at her home.  Carol enjoyed spending time with family and friends and could always be counted on for a game of canasta.

Carol graduated from Dothan High School in 1967.  She spent many years employed with AmSouth Bank and later with AAA Cooper Transportation where she retired in 2021.

She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Dothan, where she was active in the sanctuary choir, taught children’s choir over the years, and was a leader in the singles ministry in her younger days.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Linda and Allen Hatcher.  She is survived by her nieces Amy (Michael) Bing, their children Aren, Ethan, and Noah, and Amanda Hatcher and her son Luke, all of Headland, her nephew Andy (Lori) Hatcher, of Dothan, his children Summer Hatcher, of Texas, Alex (Jessie) Hatcher, of Clayton, and Danielle Hatcher, of Dothan, her “sister-cousin” Mary Helen (William Earl) Forrester of Ashford, their children Lorinda Quattlebaum, of Dothan and Gina (Jesse) Cox of Rehoboth, a host of great nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her best friend of more than forty years, Ginger Ross, of Dothan.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Dothan at 2:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Wiregrass Humane Society, an organization Carol loved and supported.
