Elma Hegwood, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Flowers Hospital. She was 78.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hegwood will be held at Noon, Friday November 11, 2011 at First Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Trail officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 AM prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to; First Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 1461 Timbers Drive, Dothan, AL 36301.

Mrs. Hegwood was born August 31, 1933 in Binghamton, New York to the late Elmer and Edna Mae Zurner Kaufman. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and was very much dedicated and involved. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include her children, Dennis and Lisa Hegwood, Cottonwood, Mitch and Donna Hegwood,  Michael and Sarah Hegwood, Dothan; six grandchildren, Daniel, Brent, Tammy, Lauren, Christie and Brooke; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Tina Bryant, Ruth Carpenter, Lois Owen; brother, David Kaufman.
