Eva Myrle Smith, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, November 17, 2014 at her residence. She was 77. 

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Bethel Baptist church with Rev. Ricky Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory cemetery with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the funeral home.

 

Ms. Smith was born and raised in Bainbridge, Georgia to the late Rhea and Bertha Mary Smolk Smith. She was a foreign missionary with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention for over 20 years and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

 

Ms. Smith is preceded in death by a sister, Cathrine Hornsby; brother, Alvin Smith and two nieces, Angela Pace and Andrea Mims.

 

Survivors include her sister, Mary S. Vaughn, Dothan; nieces, Rebecca Skipper, Rhonda Mayhall,  all of Dothan, Brenda Bailey, Verna Cohren and Beverly Smith, all of Pensacola, FL; nephews, Clayburn M. Vaughn, John B. Vaughn I, Charles R. Vaughn, Joseph J. Vaughn, all of Dothan, Albert Rhea Smith, Muskegon, MI and Larry Hornsby, Pensacola, FL;  several great nieces and nephews and extended family.
