Ms. Frances Hand, age 83, a resident of Ashford, passed away early Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle following an extended illness.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday April 23, 2017 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kevin Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at the Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.
The family will be receiving friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Sunday prior to services at Glover Funeral Home Chapel.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity.
Ms. Hand was born August 2, 1933, in Ozark to the late Johnnie B. and Sallie Muree Beard Welch. She was employed as a seamstress at Wex-Tex in Ashford for 20 years. Ms. Hand worked at Extendicare for 3 years, Home Health for 3 years and a private caregiver since 1995 until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, children’s father Carl Will Hand, an infant son Jerry Hand, son, Johnny Hand, a granddaughter April Hand, a sister Mary Harrison, 2 brothers, Elbert Welch and Hubert Welch.
Survivors include: her children, Linda Gayle Bowen (Gary); Jack Hand (Sandra); Audrey Marine (Terry); Teresa Wrobel (Norm); Dena Hand; Judy Brown (Jimmy); and Tracy Hand; and 2 brothers, Billy Welch; James Welch (Jo); and a sister, Sara Griffin, 24 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Beau Hand, Bryan Hand, Stephen Hand, Tyler Hand, Anthony Collins and Branson Nall. Honorary Pallbearers are Shane Hand, Slade Morris and Bill Welch.
