Ms. Johnnie Tarter Adkins passed away quietly in her home on April 1, 2015 after a brief illness.

Longtime resident of Dothan and Hartford, Alabama, Ms. Adkins was a dedicated, devoted, generous, energetic and quiet philanthropist. She was instrumental and advocate forging air-conditioning in the Dothan City/Public Schools. Ms. Adkins was admired and loved by all of those who knew her and those with whom she touched by her generosity.

The consummate fashion maven had a multitude of interests and hobbies which included the latest fashions, extreme holiday/seasonal decorations, and a very green thumb for gardening.

She is remembered by her children: Dr. Anthoney Nigel Hartzog (partner Coley Purvis), Timothy William (Bill) Hartzog-Beasley and Michele Hanley (husband Brad Hanley) and grandson Alex Hanley. She is also remembered by relatives and special friends: Shirley Allmon, Anthony Glover, Rodney Clark, Sr., Debbie Wills Boyd and Lynn Struthers.

Family will be receiving friends at the home of Lynn Struthers, 203 Bellhaven Dr. Dothan, AL 36303 at 12:30 P.M. Friday, April 3.

Contributions may be made to Genetiva Hospice.

“May Johnnies Memory be Eternal.”
