Lonelle Boleyn
Lonelle (Lashley) Boleyn was born December 12, 1935 in Ashford, AL to Carlton and Bernice Lashley. Her golden heart stopped beating on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the age of 88. She passed peacefully at her home from natural causes. She was raised in Ashford and went to school there. In 1954, upon graduation, she went to Southeastern Bible Institute (now Southeastern University), where she met her husband, Herb Boleyn. They were married on July 15, 1955, in Ashford, AL. They raised 8 children, fostered 4 teens from juvenile detention, all while being highly involved in their church.
Lonelle (Lanelle by her preference) played the piano, organ and accordion as well as having a beautiful singing voice. She loved to play and sing for the Lord. She was her church pianist nearly all of her adult life. She also played the piano for various quartets and singing groups including accompanying her husband in the prison ministry. Upon Herb’s retirement, he and Lanelle pastored Clermont Assembly of God church in Clermont, FL for a few years before relocating to Dallas, Texas to serve as Dorm Hosts in the Linguistics Center with Wycliffe Bible Translators. For several years they supported Linguistics missionaries going to and from the mission field. They loved what they did and did it well and made many wonderful friendships during their stay. In 2000, they came back to Ashford to take care of Lanelle’s mother until she went to be with the Lord in 2005 and remained until their own homegoing.
Lanelle was blessed with many talents, wore many hats and was a wonderful homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, Sunday School teacher, musician, neighbor, and friend. Some of her many talents and hard work included her excellent cooking skills and baking ability, everything homemade from scratch. Making their house a home for her husband and children was one of her top priorities.
Lanelle was loved by many and will be remembered as a faithful servant of the Lord, always showing the Love of Christ in everything she did. Her heart was to personally witness and her life be a witness for the Lord, pointing her family and others to the cross of Christ, that nobody be left behind. She leaves a legacy of faith and love that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed
to know her. Her deepest prayer and longing was to be found faithful by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Lanelle is preceded in death by her husband, Herb Boleyn; her parents; her sister, Helen Earnest; her eldest daughter, Sandra Maddox and her eldest son, Kenneth Boleyn.
