Nadine McGowan Wilson, a resident of Slocomb, Alabama died Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle. She was 91.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Nadine was the second of nine children born at her home to the late Coy Lee and Voncil Lewis McGowan on November 12, 1932, in Hartford, Alabama during the Great Depression. She worked on the farm as a child and continued her career as an executive secretary with Georgia Marble and other corporations. Nadine was a devout Christian that loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She enjoyed sharing her faith and the Bible by quoting her favorite scriptures. The evening before she passed, she quoted 1 Corinthians 13 verses 4-8 about love verbatim, which captured her feelings for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Nadine was preceded by her parents; two sons, Steven Corey Wilson, and Scott Allen Wilson; a sister, Madie Norton; a brother, Bruce McGowan; the father of her children, Don Wilson; two brother-in laws, Herschel Creel Jr, and Billy Jack Saunders; and nephews, Chris Saunders, Tim Creel, and Ben Grantham.

Left to cherish her memories are three grandchildren, Kira Sky Wilson, Karina Star Levine, and Sky Blue Wilson; a brother, Jerry Lee McGowan; five sisters, Clarice Creel, Betty Jean Saunders, Brenda Joy Grantham, Gloria Box (John), and Beverly Andrews (Randy); a brother-in- law, Bobby Norton; the mother of her grandchildren, Rebecca Charlotte Levine, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The family would like to thank the special caregivers that gave all their love and care to Nadine, Angela Shelley, Alexis Jenkins, Talesha Belcher, Nikki Williams, Susie McDonald and the entire staff  at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle.
