Ms. Oleane Furniss, daughter of William Homer and Myrtle Lee Bates, was born February 22, 1934 in Limestone County, Alabama. She was an avid Church of Christ member throughout her life. She served her later years at Hartford Highway Church of Christ as a dedicated member.
Ms. Furniss was a woman of God who served a handful of her sisters in Christ by being their in home caretaker. Her family has fond memories of her starting each day in her Bible and picking up her Bible immediately in times of trouble. She distributed a great example of faith in the Lord and displayed grace in every situation.
She quietly departed this life Monday, August 10, 2020 at Hartford Health Care in Hartford, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell John Furniss; her son, Russell Keith Furniss; her siblings, William Bates, Carolyn (Bill) Eaves, Ray (Betty) Bates, and James Bates.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her family, her siblings, Elbert Bates and Joe (Shirley) Bates; her son, Ronald Furniss; her grandchildren, Russell K. Furniss, Jr., Johnathan (Kimber) Furniss, Ronnie J. (Mendi) Furniss, Ronnie L. (Heather) Furniss, Delana (Wayne) Tye, Angelyne (Nathan) Nilson, and Hannah (Cody) Wade; her great-grandchildren, Ryan Furniss, Gavin Furniss, Haylee Furniss, Kadence Furniss, Jayvon Furniss, Hunter Furniss, Kinsley Redding, Jaxson Nilson, Joslynn Nilson, and Wyatt Wade.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, August 14, 2020 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kevin Presley officiating. Burial will follow in Pansey Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until 10 AM, prior to the service.
