Sarah Nelson, 83, of Gordon, Alabama, passed away at her residence Wednesday, June 10, 2015, with her loving family at her bedside.

 

Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Dothan City Cemetery with Reverend Jimmy Bolin officiating and Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the graveside service at the funeral home.

 

Born in Dothan, Alabama, Sarah was a daughter of the late William Crate and Thelma Edwards Davis. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Nelson.

 

Surviving are six sons, Eugene Nelson, Bobby Nelson, Kenny Nelson, Billy Nelson, Charles Nelson, James Nelson; a daughter, Kathy Kolmetz; a bother, Johnny Mac Davis; a sister, Winnie Owens; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
