Ms. Susan Diane Grant Vasquez, a resident of Dothan and formerly of Ozark, died Tuesday, February 9, 2021.  She was 73 years old.


Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, February 12, 2021, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark with Reverend Jim Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.


Ms. Vasquez was born September 29, 1947 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Lunie Shelton Grant and Myrtle Velma Beasley Grant.  She graduated from Carroll High School in 1965 and attended Wallace Community College. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Ozark.  Diane worked with Civil Service at Fort Rucker, Cowikee/Avondale Mills in Ozark, and as Research and Development Lab Manager with Phillips Van Heusen Corporation until her retirement.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Wayne Grant and Stanley Eugene Grant.


Survivors include her daughter, April Vasquez of Dothan; one son, Rick Vasquez, Jr. (Kim) of Dothan; two grandchildren, Alexander Vasquez and Lorelei Vasquez;  two sisters, Louise English of Milton, Florida and Faye Shields of Albany, Georgia; her twin brother, Danny Grant (Susan) of Orange Beach, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Marianne Grant of Atlanta, Georgia, Julie Gutierrez, Roxanne Vasquez-Gomez, and Maria Turnbough all of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Schallom, Jr. also of St. Louis.  Many nieces and nephews also survive.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Mr. Ronnie Snellgrove, 1480 County Road 143, Ozark, Alabama  36360.
