Ms. Willie Bell Pearson Irvin, age 92, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday February 11, 2023 at Wesley Place after an extended illness. She was a long-time resident of Webb, Alabama.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday February 18, 2023 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Palmer officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service at 1:00 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. Burial will follow at the Shiloh F.W. Baptist Church Cemetery near Columbia with Glover Funeral Home directing.
Ms. Irvin was born on August 30, 1930 in Columbia. She was the daughter of the late Brian “Byrd” Daniel Pearson and Clora Beatrice Smith Pearson. She was strong in her faith and a devoted and loving mother. She fiercely loved her family, diligently raised her many children and grandchildren, constantly was there to help others in time of need, and “Coffee Bell” loved her coffee. She had a green thumb, could make anything grow, was an amazing cook and baker, which she prepared for dozens of loved ones during holidays. When her children were grown, she diverted her maternal, humorous and accepting presence to sit with, give love, to those that were terminally ill. She will be sorely missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Von Deron Irvin; 3 children, Evon Irvin, Linda Irvin, and Steven Irvin; grandchildren, Clifton Passman, Marcus Woodham, and Alicia Babcock and a great-grandson William Patrick Woodham; 5 sisters, Ada Mae Tillery, Martha Gene Tillery, Ollie V Brown, Ruby Hyman, and Nellie Ruth Pearson, 3 brothers, Houston, James, and Larry Pearson.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Martha Saragusa (Russell) Katy, TX; Sheila Rapaport (Jonathan), Bucks County, PA; Gloria Woodham and Peggy Irvin, Dothan, AL; 5 sons, John Irvin (Kim), Columbia, AL; Mike Irvin (Ylka) New York, NY; Danny Irvin (LaRhonda), David Irvin (Rhonda), and Sam Irvin (Cathy), Dothan, AL; 28 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and sister, Alice Culpepper, Headland, AL.
Pallbearers will be members of the family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Wesley Place for their exceptional care and love.
