MSG Arthur John “Ozzie” Osepchook, Sr., (United States Air Force, Retired) a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at his home.  He was three days short of his 95th birthday.


Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, October 22, 2018, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with COL Milton Shipman, United States Army Chaplain, officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Full Military Honors and Masonic Rites, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.


MSG Osepchook was born October 19, 1923 in Dover, New Hampshire to the late William and Catherine Drezno Osepchook. He served proudly in the United States Army Air Corp and the United States Air Force during World War II,  until his retirement.  He was a POW in World War II for fourteen months after the B-17 “Silver Dollar” in which he was flying as a ball turret gunner was shot down over Berlin during his 21st mission.  He and the aircraft’s waist gunner were the only two to survive the crash.  He was a member of  Masonic Lodge 908 in Ozark and was a Shriner.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Louise Stepp Osepchook; one sister, one brother, and one step-son.


Survivors include children, John Osepchook, Jr. and wife, Joan, Phillip Osepchook and wife, Jeanne, and Merlin Osepchook; step children:  Dianna G. Dobbs,  Dottie Lewis Warren and husband, Charles Warren Sr.;  daughter-in-law, Patricia Dorton; one sister, Olga Sealy.     Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends also survive.
