MSGT Harvard H. Burke (USAF Ret.), a resident of Ft. Rucker, AL, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at a local hospital.


Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Stan Burke officiating.


Mr. Burke was born October 26, 1926 in Alva, Florida and spent the early part of his life there. He was a Veteran of WWII and the Korean War having served in the U.S. Navy for 2 years and the U.S. Air Force for 18 years until his retirement in 1965 when he relocated to the Leesburg, FL area. Following his military service, he spent time working in the Rock and Sand Mining industry as a supervisor. Mr. Burke loved his model trains and plying his trade as a “Shade Tree Mechanic.” He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Trilacoochee, FL and has lived in Ft. Rucker since 2014.


Survivors include his wife Maple J. Burke; his sons, Stan (Susan) Burke and Lynn Burke; his daughters, Karon (Mike) Dugger, Sharon Burke Kemp, and Elaine (Johnny) Young; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Burke; a sister, Carolyn Betts; numerous nieces and nephews.
