Murlene Ellis of Coffee Springs, AL. passed away at Florala Health and Rehab on Sunday, May 17, 2015.  She was 82.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Ricky Hall officiating.  Burial will follow in Coffee Springs Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral Home on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. 


Mrs. Ellis was born in Opp, Ala. on November 11, 1932 to the late Henry and Eva White McKnight.  A homemaker all of her adult life, Mrs. Ellis was a wonderful cook and seamstress.  She loved her family dearly and was much adored by her siblings.  Preceding her in death were her husband of fifty-two years, Warren D. Ellis, Sr.; daughter, Elaine Bartlett; sister, Kathlene Stokes; and a brother, Aaron McKnight.


She is survived by her son, Warren D. “Dyal” Ellis, Jr. (Karen) of Pueblo West, CO; two grandchildren, Mackie Shay Cheshire of Enterprise and Shelby Lynn Ellis of Conroe, TX.; two brothers, David McKnight of Connecticut and Ray McKnight of Orlando; three sisters, Mary Culpepper of Coffee Springs, Molly Hart of Lockhart, Ala. and Margie Collinsworth of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
