She was a lifelong resident of the area. She was born to Early Lee and Eunice Hollis Smith. Myra enjoyed several jobs in Dothan, throughout the years, but none as much as working with children at Malvern Baptist Church as well as in her home. She also helped organize the children’s Sunday School program at Bay Springs Baptist Church. Though she didn’t have children, she was a mother to many as she shared so much heartfelt love and affection with many special girls and boys. Many children got the thrill of enjoying Sunday drives to the local stores for snacks and drinks. Myra Faye was a believer and all who knew her saw God’s love in everything she did. She will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henderson Hall, her brothers, T.J. Smith, Grady Lee Smith and W. David Smith along with her sisters, Minnie Jewel Smith Dowling and Audrey Smith Turner. She is survived by her brother, Early Ray Smith (Catherine), a host of nieces and nephews and many loyal friends that loved her so very much.
The family wishes to express much gratitude to nieces Mary Ann Turner McGrady and Glenda Dowling Hatcher as well as to her special caretaker Susan Rowell for their love and support during these final months of Myra Faye’s life.
