MYRA NELL CLEMENTS
NEWVILLE. . . Myra Nell Kirkland Clements, a resident of County Road 508, Newville, died Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, in a Dothan hospital. She was 90.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, April 11, 2012, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor James A. Rich and Reverend Mike Wehner officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, near Echo. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105-3678.
Mrs. Clements was born and reared in the Mt. Pisgah community of Dale County, daughter of the late John Wilson Kirkland and Ollie Deal Kirkland. She was a graduate of the Dale County High School in Ozark. Mrs. Clements lived on the family farm in Dale County her entire lifetime. She was formerly employed by Wex-Tex Manufacturing Company of Headland and also White Knight Manufacturing Company of Ozark. Mrs. Clements was a member of the Concord Baptist Church and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Zilpha Clements Fretts and husband Paul, Dothan; a son Lamar Clements and wife Dorothy, Newville; four grandchildren, Stephanie Clements Thompson and husband J.T., Samantha Clements Kelly and husband, Wesley, Travis Wilson Fretts and wife Lindsay, and Ryan David Fretts and wife Andrea; four great grandchildren, Reese Kelly, Cooper Kelly, Lillian Claire Fretts, and Camille Maria Fretts; several cousins, and her loving canine friends, Scout and Blaze.
