MYRLINE JOHNSON GIVENS
WEBB…Myrline Johnson Givens, a resident of Webb, died Sunday evening, March 17, 2013, at her home. She was 80.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 23, 2013, in the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church with Reverend Hugh D. Kirkland, Jr. officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Dawn Deese, 3393 Hunter Road, Columbia, AL 36319.
Mrs. Givens was a native of Dothan, daughter of the late, John Henry Johnson and Rosie Lee Fennel Johnson. She lived in Webb since 1965. Mrs. Givens was an active participant of the Webb Senior Center and was Senior of the Month in May 2012. She was a member of the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. Mrs. Givens was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Preston Givens, a daughter, Myrna Legear, four brothers, Rufus Johnson, Willis Johnson, Curtis (Bubba) Johnson, and Beauford Johnson, and two sisters, Mary Carter and Odel Williams; a step-son, Gene Givens.
Surviving relatives include five grandchildren, Clayton Lamar Legear and wife Megan, Hurley, MS; Debbie Culbreth and husband, Joel, Webb; Dallas Preston Givens, Temecula, CA.; Ashley Givens and wife, Elizabeth, Dothan; Brandon Givens, Pansey; five great-grandchildren, Jackson Legear, Travis Culbreth, Carlee Culbreth, Will Givens and Willie Varnum; step-son, Larry Givens and wife, Rosemary, Pansey; a sister-in-law, Florence Johnson, Darlington, FL.
