SHORTERVILLE. . .Myrtle Sauls Buxton, a resident of Shorterville, died Wednesday morning, October 15, 2014, in the emergency room of a Dothan hospital. She was 70.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 17, 2014, in the Pilgrim’s Rest Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend W. E. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Friday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Pilgrim’s Rest Free Will Baptist Cemetery Fund, c/o Carolyn Bukszar, 1070 County Road 137, Shorterville, AL 36373.
Mrs. Buxton was born and reared in Henry County, daughter of the late Mercer Young Sauls and Thelma Skinner Sauls. She lived in Shorterville since 1966. Mrs. Buxton was a member of the Pilgrim’s Rest Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William T. Sauls and James Robert Sauls, and a sister, Audie Mobley.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Odis Lamar Buxton, Shorterville; three brothers, Jerry Sauls, Columbus, GA; David Sauls (Mary), Shorterville; and Bobby R. Sauls, Sr. (Sarah), Abbeville; a sister-in-law, Robin Sauls Parson, Abbeville.
