Eufaula…Myrtlene Kirkland Williamson, a resident of Eufaula died late Tuesday afternoon, July 19, 2022 in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Faclity in Abbeville.  She was 80.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 21, 2022 in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with the Reverend Jeff Hines officiating.  Private burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the mortuary.


Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Cross Baptist Chruch, 33 Early Street, Eufaula, AL 36027.


Mrs. Williamson was born in Columbia and reared in Headland, the daughter of the late Clarence Lanton Kirkland and Callie Mae Newman Kirkland.  She was a graduate of Headland High School.  Mrs. Williamson lived in Abbeville and Clayton prior to moving to Eufaula in 1976.  She was employed for a number of years for Van Heusen in Clayton and also as a Teachers Aide at Clayton Elementary School.  She was a member of Cross Baptist Chruch in Eufaula.  Mrs.Williamson was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Williamson, a grandson, Kenneth Justin Williamson and all of her sisters and brother.


Survivors include her son, Kenneth Williamson (Kelly) of Eufaula, one granddaughter, Kelli Yates (Michael) of Nashville, TN., six great-grandchildren, Payton, Hunter, Cassadee, Anthony, Madison and Myles, Jr.


The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice and “The Braswell Girls” for their special care and love shown to Mrs. Williamson.
