Nancy Diana Cooper of Enterprise, AL passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Flowers Hospital.  She was 83.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Dr. Ben Bowden officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 PM until service time.

Nancy D. Cooper was born on All Saint’s Day on November 1, 1934 in Plattsburgh, New York.  She was a loving wife and mother of three children and four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  She was also very close to her only living sibling, Connie Durkee in New York.

Nancy and her husband, Albert Cooper, enjoyed traveling and traveled every opportunity they got.  She was very interested in people and loved seeing the various cultures around the world.  Nancy adored her friends that she made in grade school, high school and college and stayed in close contact with them over her lifetime.  She had a passion for reading and a thirst for knowledge.

Some of her activities included: Retired Officers Wives Club, Boll Weevil Travel Club, Pierian Book Club, Tia Chi Class (she especially enjoyed her Tia Chi Class), Charity Events and donating to many causes.

Nancy was a very caring and compassionate person and always put the needs of other before her own.  It was the simple things in life she never took for granted, commenting daily how fortunate and thankful she was.  Above all, Nancy was devoted to her husband Albert and her children.  She was a woman of strong faith believing in the power and strength of our Heavenly Father’s love and the beauty and peace that would await her after her passing.  She is now reunited with her family and friends that she has not seen in a long time.  Music, Laughter and love are guaranteed and now she can read to her heart’s content.  But for all of us who knew her, the world is always going to seem as if a beautiful saint is missing.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Albert Cooper, Enterprise, AL; one son, Eugene Albert Cooper (Janet), Headland, AL; two daughters, Diana Anderson (Ramesh), Enterprise, AL, Lynn O’Meara (Gary), Enterprise, AL; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Connie Durkee, Plattsburgh, NY.
