Nancy Jean (Messer) Boyett, 85, a lifelong resident of Houston County passed away on, Monday, November 25, 2024, at her residence.


Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2024, at Madrid City Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Harden officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.


Flowers will be accepted.


Nancy was born on March 26, 1939, in Cottonwood to the late Henry Milford & Katie Luverne (McCord) Messer. She spent the early years of her life in Cottonwood and was a graduate of Cottonwood High School. Following school, she worked for Warner Textile Mile as a seamstress for over 35 years. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church.


She is preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Donna Jean Boyett.


She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Hubert Boyett of Cottonwood; a son, James H. Boyett; three brothers, Henry Milford Messer, Jr. of Cottonwood, David Douglas Messer of Hamilton Crossroads, FL, and Benny Melvin Messer of Dothan; a sister, Martha Helen Brooks of Cowarts; three grandchildren, Jesse Boyett of Dothan, Joshua Boyett of Rehobeth, and Jared Boyett of Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.


The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of DaySpring Hospice and Ginger Valachovic for the love and care given to their loved during this time.
