Narumi Shimoda, 84, a resident of Dothan passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015, at a local hospital.


Graveside services with military honors will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Sunset Memorial Park.


Mr. Shimoda was born in California on December 7, 1930. As a small child he was kept in a Japanese Internment Camp during World War II. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He received a Purple Heart. He moved to Dothan in the early 1960's. He was always involved in the poultry business and worked until the day he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He was a hard worker and loved by everyone. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren whom he loved endlessly.


He is survived by his two sons, Nick Y. Shimoda and Joey N. Shimoda; daughter-in-law, Laurie N. Shimoda; grandchildren, Lacey C. Shimoda and Lindsey N. Shimoda; a brother Masaru Shimoda; several nieces and nephews.
