Narvie Lurleen “Ann” Summerlin Reeves,
September 24, 1923 – April 15, 2020,
Geneva, Alabama
Ann lived a long and fulfilling life as a caring sister to eight siblings, devoted wife, mother, and loving grandmother. She enjoyed holding babies, growing flowers, meteorology as a hobby, listening to gospel and country music, the advent of television, baking, and honoring her personal Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ann was preceded in death by her husband—Roy M. Reeves; children—niece Lynn Summerlin, daughter Linda Barker, son Donnie Reeves; and five siblings. She is survived by her legacy: three grandchildren--Scott (Traci) Reeves of Huntsville, AL, Michel (Norman) Mayo of Enterprise, AL, and Angelique (Ray) Jones of Washington, DC, five great-grandchildren—Caitlin Reeves, Megan Mayo, Harrison Reeves, Gavin Mayo, and Bailey Reeves (all of whom she held with joy), one special daughter-in-law, and three siblings along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
As per family request during this pandemic, Ann was promptly interred on April 17, 2020, alongside her husband and near her son and daughter in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be scheduled for the family in the near future.
The family is extremely thankful to the employees of Wiregrass Nursing Home for many years of skilled care, love, and attention. Those wishing to honor the life of Ann Reeves are encouraged make a donation in her name directly to the Alzheimer’s Association or Westside United Methodist Church in Geneva, Alabama, where she was a longtime member.
