HEADLAND. . .Nathanial Ray (Nathan) Solomon, age 8, of Headland, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 13, 2015, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 16, 2015, in the Worship Center of the First Baptist Church of Headland with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Wednesday in the Sunrise Memorial Park, Greenville, Alabama with Reverend Ricky Crysell officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the graveside services in the Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Butler County. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
Nathan Solomon, affectionately known as “Little Man or Nate”, was a native of Greenville, Alabama and moved with his family to Headland in 2014. He attended Ashford Elementary School. Nathan was a member of the Brushy Creek Baptist Church and attended the First Baptist Church of Headland. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kayla Marie Sexton.
Surviving relatives include his parents, Heather Corbin and Steven Gill, a sister, Hannah Solomon, all of Headland; grandparents, John Dewberry, Andalusia; Martha Corbin and Julia Parmer both of Greenville; Thomas and Jackie Greene, Dothan; Patricia Sexton and Charlie Ray Sexton, Sr. both of Greenville; an aunt, Kim Clinard, Athens, Al; an uncle, Stephen Corbin (Heather Prater Corbin), Honoraville, AL; several great aunts and great uncles.
