Nell Sanders Robertson, 90, of Enterprise, AL, formerly of Starkville, MS, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014.


Graveside service will be at Memorial Garden Park, Starkville, MS at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 25, 2014 with visitation at Welch Funeral Home from 9:30 to 10:30.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lampkin Street, Starkville, MS 39759 or to a favorite charity.


Mrs. Robertson graduated from Meridian High School in 1940 and later worked at Key Field, Meridian, MS, during WWII.  She married Ralph Robertson in 1949; then moved to Starkville, MS shortly after where she lived over fifty years.  During her time in Starkville, she served as secretary in numerous departments at Mississippi State University.  She was serving in the MSU President’s Office when she retired.


She was a member of Starkville First United Methodist Church for many years.


Mrs. Robertson was born November 21, 1923 in Lauderdale County, MS to Clarence and Letha Sanders.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ralph R. Robertson, her two sisters and her brother.


She is survived by her son Rick (Gwen) Robertson, Vicksburg, MS, her daughter, Susan Phares (Bob) Enterprise, AL, grandchildren, Denise (Chris) Warnock, Florence, MS, and Curtis (Katie) Robertson, Vicksburg, MS, great grandchildren, Caleb Warnock, Florence, MS and Cora Robertson, Vicksburg, MS and several nephews and nieces.


The family would like to acknowledge the staffs of the Terrace at Grove Park, Dothan, AL and Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation Center, Enterprise, AL for their love and care for Nell over the past few years.
