           Nell W. Adams, of Enterprise, died Friday morning, March 9, 2012, at her home.


 


           Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob West officiating.  Burial will follow in Enterprise City Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the First Methodist Church, 217 Main Street, Enterprise, AL 36330, Enterprise Public Library, 101 East Grubbs St., Enterprise, AL 36330 and the Enterprise City Cemetery Association, PO Box 310075, Enterprise, AL 36331 will be appreciated.


 


           Nell Adams was the youngest of five children born to the late Julius and Alice Woodham of Midland City, Alabama. On Nov. 14, 1944, Nell married Dick Adams then, an Army Air Corps sergeant stationed at Napier Field, Alabama, during World War II. At the end of the war, Nell and Dick moved to Enterprise, where they lived out their lives together until his death Nov. 11, 1988.


 


           In addition to her parents and husband, Nell was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister; and her nephew.


           She is survived by her son, Richard C. “Ricky” Adams; the Edna Guice Sunday School and the rest of her Enterprise First United Methodist Church family; Tim and Karen Whitehead; her best friends Betty Robinson and Bonnie Edwards; granddaughter Melinda Carrington, great grandson Lane Marler, and great granddaughter, Laci Riley, all of Enterprise; nephews Mike Adams (Ruth) of Dowagiac, Mich., and James Woodham (Dinah) of Midland City, Alabama; great nephew Rev. Randy Woodham (Kathy) of Opelika; great-great nephew Kyle Woodham (Brittney) of Dothan; great-great nephew Tyler Woodham, of Opelika; and numerous cousins.


           Past and current members of the Enterprise Wildcat football broadcast team will serve as pallbearers.
