Nellie Ruth Garrett Hall, 84, a resident of Dothan, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May6, 2013, with family members by her side. Mrs. Hall was born on March 11, 1929 in Ashland, Alabama. She was raised in Auburn, Alabama and lived in the Montgomery area until relocating to Greenville, Alabama in the late 1950s. Mrs. Hall and her family moved to Dothan in 1963.



Mrs. Hall was married to Bud Hall on August 20, 1949, and soon after started a family. She worked selflessly and diligently as a stay-at-home mom taking care of her 11 children for almost 40 years. She loved spending time with her family and friends, reading fictional novels, cooking large meals for family get-togethers, and cheering on her favorite football team-The Auburn Tigers. She looked forward to visits from her children and grandchildren and loved telling anyone about how proud she was of all of them.



Mrs. Hall is survived and will be greatly missed by her: son, “Bud” Jr. and Donna Hall of Virginia; son, David and Brenda Hall of Dothan; son, Andy and Pamela Hall of Dothan; daughter, Barbara and Tom Reece of Graceville; son, Bill and Valerie Hall of Mississippi; son, Bob and Norma of Texas; daughter, Pam and Joe North of Taylor; son, Gary and Robyn of Texas; daughter, Marti and Fred Burch of Arizona; daughter, Becky Hall of Florida; and son, Geoff Hall of Georgia. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren., and several nieces and nephews.



Mrs. Hall is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Walden Lee “Bud” Hall, father and mother, Gilbert and Ruth Garrett, and brother and sister, Bob Garrett and Clarice Garrett Jackson.



Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 1 to 2:30 P.M. Thursday, May 9, 2013, followed by funeral services starting at 2:30 PM with Reverend David Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.



The family would like to express their appreciation to Gentiva Hospice for their special care and support during this time of need.



Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Hall’s name to Highland Park United Methodist Church
