Nellie S. Graham, 95, formerly of Dothan, AL and Sebring, FL passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 3, 2016.
Born in San Antonio, TX on January 19, 1921, she was preceded in death by her parents, H.M. and Ida L. Stocksdale; her husband of 71 years, John Herman Graham of Dothan and her son, David W. Graham.
Nellie is survived by her son, John H. Graham, Jr. (Maryellen) of Seminole, FL and daughter-in-law Pamela Graham of Colonial Beach, VA; a grandson, Mark Kindberg (Tara) of Rehobeth, MA; 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews in the Dothan and Leesburg, FL area.
Nellie was the former chief deputy property appraiser for Highlands County in Sebring and upon retirement, moved to Dothan, the hometown of her husband. In Dothan, she worked part time at Loftin’s Party Store with a niece, Susan and nephew, Walt. She soon became known as “Aunt Nellie” to everyone in the store, both employees and customers until she retired again at age 90 to move to be near her son John. She was a devoted member of Cloverdale United Methodist Church where she volunteered for many years.
A visitation will be held at Ward Wilson Funeral Home at 1 P.M. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 followed by a funeral service at 2 after which she will be buried next to her husband at Memory Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Cloverdale United Methodist Church in Dothan.
