DOTHAN. . .Nettie Jo Campbell Shipes, a resident of Dothan, died Monday morning, October 3, 2016, in the Dale Medical Center. She was 85.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 5, 2016, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Jim Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Mrs. Shipes was born and reared in Clio, daughter of the late Wallace Franklin Campbell and Emma Viola Livingston Campbell. She lived in the Memphis Church community most of her adult lifetime. Mrs. Shipes was a member of the Clio Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Don Shipes, a daughter, Judy Shipes, both of Dothan; a son, Donald Shipes (Faye), Headland; two grandsons, Preston Shipes (Misty) and John Shipes (Sarah); two great-grandchildren, Maddie Shipes and Hayden McWaters.
