Nettie Lee Hudson of Elba passed away at her residence on Monday, May 1, 2017. She was 86. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Randy Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodman Community Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. 


Mrs. Hudson was born August 11, 1930, to the late J.D. and Etta Viola Hill Robinson.  Prior to her retirement, she worked for many years in sewing factories.  She was also a homemaker who dearly loved her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hudson; two sons, Charlie W. “Buck” Hudson and Robert M. “Pete” Hudson; four grandchildren, Charlie Allen Johnson, Barbara Lorraine Hudson, Emma Jean Haskin and Betty Jean Goodwin; great granddaughter, Dasha Destiny Parvin; four sisters, Pearlie Paul, Jean Bryant, Mattie Chambers and Mable Robinson; and four brothers, Haroldon Robinson, Jeff Robinson, Jerry Robinson, and Junior Robinson. 


She is survived by five daughters, Ann Johnson, Brenda Kay Johnson (Dock), Nettie Kay Hudson, all of Elba, Cathy Lee Kirklin (Phillip) of Andalusia, and Jan Kelley of Elba; son, Billy Wayne Hudson (Catherine) of Elba; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren, seventeen great great-grandchildren; three sisters, Myrtle Mullins, Martha Vandergrift and Linda Jean Norwood; brother, Eddie Robinson (Inez), all of Samson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
