Nettie Merle Hataway of Ozark, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Flowers Hospital. She was 75 years of age.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 22, 2013 at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Reverends Steve King and Bill Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ozark Baptist Church, 282 S. Union St., Ozark, AL. 36360.
Mrs. Hataway was born May 5, 1939 in Ozark to Curtis B. and Tiny Jewell Smith Marshall. She had a great passion for Geneology, flowers and gardening. Mrs. Hataway was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and also attended Ozark Baptist Church. She was known to many as Mama Hat.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hataway; grandparents, Hezekaih and Fannie Lee Smith and Columbus and Nettie Marshall; her father, Curtis B. Marshall; her brother, Charles Marshall and a sister, Patricia Wallace.
Mrs. Hataway is survived by her mother, Jewell Marshall of Ozark; her sons, Bobby Ray Lane (Stephanie) of Ariton and Curt Dunn (Sara) of Ozark; her sisters, Margaret Dykes (Sam) of Ozark, Peggy Langford (Aubrey) of Ozark, Sarah Burkett (Phillip) of Chattanooga, TN. and Deborah Childree (Greg) of Ozark; also surviving are her grandchildren, Chasity Long of Elba, Kristy Lane Woodham (Jarrod) of Auburn, Marshall Lane of Ozark and Samantha Pitts (J.J.) of Loxley; three great-grandchildren; 23 nieces and nephews and fifteen great nieces and nephews.
