HEADLAND. . . Nettie Pope Hamm, a resident of Headland died Thursday afternoon, April 27, 2017 at her home. She was 79.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 30, 2017 in the Bethlehem Baptist Church near Headland with Reverend Norman C. Simmons and Reverend Ricky Sowell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Holman-Headland Mortuaries & Cremations in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday.

            A native of Midland City, Mrs. Hamm moved to the Bethlehem community near Headland in 1963. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant at Azalea Court Assisted Living in Headland. After her retirement Mrs. Hamm enjoyed sitting with the elderly in the Bethlehem community. Mrs. Hamm was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Leonard Hamm and a sister, Vivian Moss.

            Surviving relatives are a son, John L. Hamm (Amanda) of Headland; three brothers, Bill Pope (Ann), Montgomery, S.A. Pope, Ashford, J.D. Givens, Midland City; one grandchild, Gabriel Hamm.
