HEADLAND… Nicholas James Gulick, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Tuesday morning, June 11, 2024, at his home. He was 46.


          Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. July 20, 2024 at Harvest Church, 2727 Fortner Street, Dothan, Alabama 36305, officiated by Pastor Larry Anderson. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until time for the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.


          Mr. Gulick was born in Long Island, New York to Richard A. Gulick and Cheryl Jakolat Gulick. He served his country in the U.S. Army for six years. During his military career he was awarded The Air Medal for; exceptional meritorious service as a flight engineer for Operation Enduring Freedom. Sargeant Gulick’s technical and tactical expertise and commitment to mission accomplishment in a combat zone contributed to and enhanced the aviation capabilities of CJTF-76 in Afghanistan. Sargeant Gulick’s performance reflects great credit upon himself, combined/joint task force 76 and the United States Central Command. He also received the Army Commendation Medal (2nd Award) // Army Achievement Medal/ Army Good Conduct Medal/ (2nd award)// National Defense Service Medal /  Afghanistan Campaign Medal / Global War on Terrorism Service Medal / / and Air Assualt Badge.   After his military service he acquired his associates degree in applied science in aviation technology. He was working at Ft. Novosel as an aircraft mechanic and T.I..


          Preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents, Lee B. & Lucy I. Gulick, his maternal grandparents, Verlyn J. & Mary A. Jakolat; and his father-in-law, George Russell Koch, Sr..


          Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Ashleigh Koch Gulick; his children, Madison Gulick (Nick Swanlaw), Noah Gulick, Elizabeth Gulick, and Elijah Gulick; his parents, Richard & Cheryl Gulick; his sister, Rachel Smith (Tom); his sisters-in-law, Barbara Cerklefskie.
