Nina Elizabeth Farthing Yeager, a resident of Dothan, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the age of 91, surrounded by her family.
Graveside services will be held 2:30 pm, Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park with Tom Littleton and Kenny Taylor officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. It will also be broadcast via zoom for any who would like to attend.

Nina was born January 20, 1931 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to Jim Parrish and Edna Gourley Farthing, the youngest of seven children. She lived on the farm until the age of 11, when the family moved into the city of Danville. She was a 1948 graduate of George Washington High School in Danville, Virginia.
Upon graduation, she was employed with Dan River Mills as an office assistant until her marriage in 1953 to Billy Joe Yeager of Chatham, Virginia. After her marriage she moved to Illinois where she resided for several years before moving back to Danville. Her husband’s employment then took she and her family to Charlotte, NC and Asheville, NC for several years before moving to Dothan in 1966 where she has resided for over 50 years.
Mrs. Yeager was employed as a sales manager for World Book Encyclopedia for over 15 years. She loved to read and always promoted reading as a way to better oneself. She later established a career as an independent insurance agent which she continued for over 30 years prior to her retirement. Mrs. Yeager was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Dothan West Congregation for over 50 years.
She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Billy Joe Yeager; a daughter, Vicky Yeager; four brothers, Louis Farthing, Robert Farthing, Bruce Farthing, and Harvey Farthing; two sisters, Empress Richardson and Elsie Wells.
Survivors include four children, Terri Kabel of Moody, Alabama, Christy Shelley (Wade) of Midland City, Alabama, Mike Yeager (Irene) of Dothan, Alabama and Tony Yeager (Sharlene) of Suwanee, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Ryan Kabel (Amanda), Beth Peabody (Kris), John David Kabel (Brittney), Haley Jo Harris (Jimmy), Tiffany Guckenberg (Jesse), Natalie Douglas (Derek) and Evan Yeager; seventeen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews as well as many special friends.
Active pallbearers will be: Ryan Kabel, John David Kabel, Evan Yeager, Jesse Guckenberg, Derek Douglas and Kris Peabody.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Barbara Welch and Encompass Hospice for the compassionate care given to our loved one.
