NORA JEMIMA DIXON BOND
HEADLAND, AL… Nora Jemima Dixon Bond, a resident of the Tumbleton Community near Headland, Alabama, passed away Tuesday night, November 21, 2023, at Henry County Health & Rehabilitation surrounded by her family. She was 90.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 24, 2023, at Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Thomas E. Bond and Elder Clayton Nowell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church, PO Box 401 Headland, Alabama 36345.
Mrs. Bond was born in Midland City, Alabama to the late Sandy Thomas “Bud” Dixon and Abbie Lee Nora Mitchell Dixon. She was retired from Sony Corporation. She had also previously worked at West Point Stevens, Wex Tex, and Warners. She was a faithful member of the Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Headland, Alabama. She loved to cook and she was famous for her peanut brittle. She always had a heart for taking care of the elderly in her community. She loved her family beyond measure.
Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her greatest love and husband of 56 years, Eldon Birdie Bond; her sisters, Lillian Messer Deese, Madeline Herndon, Alma Chandler, and Sarah Nell Dixon; and her brothers, Lester Dixon, Frank Dixon, JR Dixon, Rufus Dixon, Comer Dixon, and “little buddy”.
Leaving to cherish her memories is her daughter, Jennifer Snellgrove (Jerry); her sons, Thomas Earl Bond (Elaine), Walter Birdie Bond (Susan), and Anthony Ray Bond (Mershon); her grandchildren, Thomas Bond (Emily), Tammy Oliver (Mike), Michael Bond (Amber), Melissa Adams (Bo), Matthew Bond (Morgan), Jessica Motley (Justin), Jayme Snellgrove (Morgan), Amanda Bond (Scott Owen), Ashley Bond (Tyler Sutton), Lesia Edwards (William), and Leanne Williams (Dylan); her great-grandchildren, Olivia Price (Luke), Alaina Fry (Bryson), Tyler Bond, Tanner Bond, Lainey Oliver, Davis Bond, Elizabeth Bond, Allen Adams, Kaylee Bostick, Piper Bond, Jayleigh Motley, Jaxson Motley, Thomas Moffitt, Bailey Moffitt, Alice Owen, Desiree Rondon, Peyton Rondon, Christian Edwards, Grayson Edwards, Victoria Edwards, and Sydney Williams; her great-great-grandchildren, Kensley Price, Beckett Fry, and Ava Fry; her brothers, Roy Dixon, Robert Dixon (Doris), and James Delma Dixon (Barbara); her sisters-in-law, Joann Dixon and Deloris Bond; her brother-in-law, Rufus Bond (Ruth); and her several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
The family wishes to express a sincere thank you for the Henry County Health & Rehab 400 Wing staff, for their compassionate and loving care given to Mrs. Bond during this time.
