Norma Jean “Boots” Allen of Ozark, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 80 years of age.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Allen was born February 12, 1934 in Brookside, Alabama to Hubert Clayton and Nettie Mae Watkins Barrow. She was the youngest of three sisters and was involved in her nieces and nephews lives in her early years. Mrs. Allen worked with the Ozark Police Department for 22 years as a School Crossing Guard.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, CW2 Benford F. Allen U.S. Army, retired and her sister, Geraldine Burnett.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her daughter, Patty Allen Hobbs (Damon Johnson) of Ozark; her son, David Michael Allen (Sandi Lanae) of Ozark; her sister, Genevieve Pollard of Brilliant, AL; her two grandchildren, Victoria Michaela Hobbs of Ozark and George Clayton Michael Allen of Midland City; a special niece, Brenda J. Brandell of Sikeston, MO; a special friend, Sandi Druckenmiller of Headland; two life-long friends, June Seifert of Ozark and Peggy Lynn Bice of Birmingham; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Edward Snow, Keith Albritton, Jason Tarter, Fred Jordan, Allan Wright and Mark Carr.
