NORMAN ROBERTSON WRIGHT


HEADLAND, AL… Norman Robertson Wright a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away late Wednesday night, January 25, 2023, at his home. He was 75.


          Funeral services will be held 3:30 P.M. Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Dr. Ricky Plummer officiating. A private family burial will follow in the Old Blackwood Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:30 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.


          Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Old Blackwood Methodist Cemetery Fund, c/o Sherril Singleton 101 Lakeview Drive, Headland, Alabama 36345.


          Mr. Wright was born in Dale County, Alabama to the late Willie Ray Wright and Willie Mae Woodham Wright Reeder. He was a true craftsman in every aspect of the word, who grew that love of building into a successful custom residential construction business. He was very gifted with precision and accuracy in all that he did. Norman developed a love for woodworking and built custom pieces for family and friends over the years that are cherished in homes today. He had a passion for and loved to play dominos. He adored his three granddaughters and loved spoiling them with weekly goodie bags filled with peppermints, gum, and chocolate. He came to know Jesus as his Savior and loved to read the Bible through each year. He had several nicknames that he was called, but cherished the nickname that his nephews gave him, “Macho”. He has left a legacy and he will be missed.


Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Laura Turner; and his brothers, Gary Wright and Buddy Wright.


Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Marcia Trammell Wright; his daughters, Stephanie Wright Brookins (Larry “Crickett” Brookins) and Victoria Leigh Wright; his beloved granddaughters, Emma Brookins, Lydia Brookins, and Amelia Brookins; his several nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Serving as active pallbearers will be Larry “Crickett” Brookins, Shane Wright, Derek Wright, Clay Wright, Clint Wright, and David Deese. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bill Jack Granberry, Sherrill Singleton, Steve Phillips, and Derold “Dickie” Boyette.
