Norman Rollison Ayres, Sr., warmly known by all as, Grandfather (79) born July 20, 1933 passed away surrounded by his family on June 1, 2013 in Dothan, Alabama.


Grandfather was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Carrie Ayres, his son Tommy Ayres, and his grandson Paul Wilson.


He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Bonnie; four children, Gail (Dan) Wilson of Cumberland, MD, Karen (Richard) Lockerby of Naples, FL, Kimberly (Keith) Thompson of Naples, FL, and Norman (Dolly) Ayres of Defuniak Springs, FL; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Thomas (Lizzie) Ayres of New Windsor, MD, and Dale (Linda) Allen of Geneva, AL.


Grandfather retired from Maryland to Marco Island, Florida then to Hartford, Alabama after a long and notable career in the aerospace and defense field. The family will not have services but plan a private celebration of life at a later date.
