Norman Van Corbett II (Norm) of Daleville, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Baptist Medical Center South following a battle with lung cancer. He was 61.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2015, in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise with Reverend John McCullough officiating. Burial will follow in Quattlebaum Cemetery in Clinton, Arkansas with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday beginning at 2:00 and continuing until service time.
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Daleville First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Norm was born in Conway, Arkansas on November 23, 1953 to the late Norman Van and Jeanette Corbett. He served in the United States Army and was a decorated Vietnam Veteran. He was a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and spent his career serving the United States Government. He was a thirty-two year active member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He was a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church in Daleville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Corbett.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Deborah Ann Miller Corbett (Debi) of Daleville, AL; 2 daughters: Tracy Corbett of Montgomery, AL and Amanda Corbett Rainey (Dean) of Troy, AL; a granddaughter, Katherine Rainey of Troy, AL; a sister, Rita Corbett of Jacksonville, FL; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, James and Kathy Dutton of Austin, TX; a nephew, Bryan Dutton; several other nieces and nephews.
