Nova Pearce Harvey passed away, Monday, May 3, 2021 at Westside Terrace. She was 94.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at First United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Allie Freeman and Dr. James B. Sanders III officiating. The family will receive friends in the church chapel from 3:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday prior to service time.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Sardis Cemetery in Midlothian, Texas with Glover Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Harvey was born June 9, 1926 in Lometa, Texas, and was a 1943 graduate of Clifton High School. She later graduated from Clifton Jr. College in 1947 and then received her degree in Elementary Education from LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. Mrs. Harvey was a member of the PEO and the National Education Organizations in Louisiana, Texas and Alabama. She also volunteered in many church and civic groups at L.S.U., the Dothan public library, Southeast Health Medical Center and the public school volunteer programs through FUMC. Mrs. Harvey was a member of First United Methodist Church for the past 15 years.
She is predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pearce; three spouses, Alton Witte Luedtke, Dr. James B. Cordiner, a chemical engineer at LSU and Rev. Earl E. Harvey, Jr., a Methodist minister and missionary for 50 years; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Helen Pearce Nichols (Earl), Dorothy Dell Pearce Evans (Wayne); a brother, Melvin Earl Pearce.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Jo Luedtke Palmer of Dothan, AL and her children, Scott Palmer (Vanessa) and Mark Palmer (Kathleen); a son, Richard Keith Luedtke of Superior, CO and his children, Bliss Luedtke and Savanna Luedtke; great grandchildren, Marydelle Palmer and Owen Palmer; a sister-in-law, Ruth Pearce; special nieces, Judy Rogers (Donny), Jan Falcona, Joni Williams and Peggy Hobbs.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Scott Palmer, Mark Palmer, Stan Jenkins and Rick Luedtke.
The family would like to send a "special thank" you to all of the sitters for their loving and compassionate care.
