OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK ~ 334‑774‑5348
Mr. Bennie A. Stubbs, 85, of Ozark, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Thursday, January 17, 2013, from Chalkhead Baptist Church with Reverend Tommy West and Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 12:30 P. M. until service time.
Mr. Stubbs was born April 23, 1927 in Dale County to the late Stephen Coleman Stubbs and Lessie V. Blackmon Stubbs. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Following his military service, he began working in various positions with Civil Service at Fort Rucker. Mr. Stubbs was a member of the Gideons, and an active member of Chalkhead Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Sam Napier.
Survivors include his wife, Florine Byrd Stubbs of Ozark;
daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Kenny Hutto; their children, Kristi Fowler, Amber Fowler and her fiancé Jeremy Artz; their grandchildren, Deanna Garrett and D. J. Bass;
daughter and son-in-law, Vivian Lois and Robert A. Miller; their daughter, Bailey Anne Miller;
son and daughter-in-law, Timothy G. and Barbara Stubbs; their children, Arliss Stubbs, Beverly and Randy Haddan; their grandchildren, Katlyn and Madison Stubbs;
daughter and son-in-law, Annie Ruth and Ronald Staley; their son, John Davidson;
