OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK ~ 334‑774‑5348
Mr. Bibb Graves Hughes, Sr., 87, of Dothan, died Monday, November 17, 2014, in Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday, November 22, 2014, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Jason Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in Echo United Methodist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from 9:30 A. M. until service time.
Mr. Hughes was born April 30, 1927 in Skipperville, Alabama to the late Henry Buchanan Hughes and Lydia Francis Watson Hughes. He served in the United States Army during World War II and with Civil Service at Fort Rucker for over thirty years, retiring in 1982. Mr. Hughes worked hard all of his life and was an avid fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight sisters and brothers, Howard Hughes, Cary Clayton Hughes, Sallie Hughes, Wesley Hughes, Willie Merle Hughes, Elyra Francis Hughes, H. B. Boss Hughes, and Benjamin Franklin Hughes.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law; Marcia Hughes of Daleville, Karen and Larry Williams of Newton, Paula and Terry Teeter of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, Bibb G. Hughes, Jr. and Pam of Echo; grandchildren, Jason Hughes (Julie), Amber Herman (Scott), Haley Hughes, Ned Carter (Melissa), Erica Carter (Chris Burns), Brad Williams, Karie Striplin (Jim Bob), Travis Williams (Nichole), Maggi Miller, and Betsy Miller; great grandchildren, Justin Hughes, Jaxson Hughes, Jacob Hughes, Isadora Low, Lilith Carter, Thomas Carter, Karoline Striplin, Hadley Williams, Garrett Sanders, Galyne Hall, Cade Herman, and Camaryn Herman; one sister, Dorothy Cooper of Cummings, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Martha Hughes of Echo.
