  OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348



Mr. Charles Eugene Shepherd, 69, of Ozark, died Sunday, October 4, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.



Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, October 7, 2015, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Harry Circle officiating.  Interment will follow in Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church Cemetery in Dothan, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P. M.



Mr. Shepherd was born October 25, 1945. He served for six years in the United States Army National Guard, 131st  Tank Battalion.  He was a loyal and dedicated employee of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark for forty-eight years. Mr. Shepherd enjoyed his family, fishing, and playing dominos with his friends and family.  He was preceded in death by his parents,  Thelma Williams Hughes and Bert Ware Hughes; two children, Teresa Gail Shepherd and Michael Eugene Shepherd; three brothers, Joe Hughes, Robert Hughes, and Clifford Hughes.



Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Doster Shepherd of Ozark; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Mark Robertson of Ozark, Melissa and Eric Tyler of Clio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Robbie Shepherd of Rehobeth, Eric and Katie Long of Auburn; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Sue and Allen Tison of Dothan, Evelyn Ross of Perry, Florida, Sherry Icenogle of Jackson, Mississippi, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Joan Hughes of Ozark, Don Hughes of Dayton, Ohio.  Six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.



Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice,  2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, Alabama  36303.
