OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mr. Harold Kendall Smith, 66, of Clio, died Thursday, November 13, 2014, in Flowers Hospital.


Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Sunday, November 16, 2014, from Elamville Assembly of God Church with The  Reverends Kenneth Earles, Randy Adams, and Robert A. Marler officiating.  Interment will follow in Calvary Assembly of God Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the Elamville Assembly of God Church in Elamville Saturday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.


Mr. Smith was born April 9, 1948 in Barbour County to Lena Belle Stafford Smith and the late Oscar Dowling Smith. He graduated from Barbour County High School and Troy University with a degree in Business Administration.  While still in high school, he worked with Easterling Fish Hatchery and was General Manager.  He continued the operation of this business currently named Judy Creek Fisheries until his death.  Harold had been a rural mail carrier from the Clio Post Office since 1990.  He also had been engaged in farming since 1969 and was known for his watermelon production.


Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Ivey Smith of Clio;  one son and daughter-in-law, Kendall and Jamie Smith of Jack, AL;  his mother,  Mrs. Lena Belle Stafford Smith of Clio; one brother and sister-in-law, Delmar E. and Edith Smith, Troy;  his mother-in-law, Mrs. Nell Ivey of Clio;  sisters-in-law, Reba Brock and Jane (Ken) Langford;  brother-in-law, Naaman (Audrey) Ivey;  nieces, Charlene Brock, Amanda Ivey, Kelli Simpson (Chris), Carly Smith, Ruthie Brock Teal (Dwight);   nephew, Parker Smith.
