Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL


 


Mr. Horace Guice “H. G.” Gunter, 80, of Ozark, went home Thursday, July 27, 2017, at his home.


Funeral services will be graveside 1:00 P. M. Friday, July 28, 2017, in Ewell Cemetery with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating.  Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.


Mr. Gunter was born June 11, 1937 in Dale County, Alabama.  He was a 1957 graduate of Ozark High School.  Mr. Gunter was employed with Walter Hand Motor Company in Ozark for forty-three years until his retirement January 9, 2013.  He was a good man, a wonderful husband and partner, a great dad and a friend to all who knew him. He will be missed and loved by all.  Mr. Gunter was preceded in death by his parents, Ad and Lessie Gunter of Ozark; two brothers, Travis C. Gunter of Newton and Albert Gunter of Albany, Georgia.


Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Anita Willis Gunter of Ozark; one son, Greg Gunter of Ozark; two sisters, Jeanette Brown of Ozark and Sara Thompson of Montgomery; two brothers-in-law, Leon Willis of Ozark, Lomax and Jeanette Willis of Ozark; two sisters-in-law, Ellen Gunter of Newton and Frances Richards of Dothan.
