OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Mr. Huey Purvis “H. P” Carroll, 85, of Midland City, died Monday, August 12, 2013, at his home with his family by his side.  Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Friday, August 16, 2013, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend DeWayne Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery near Clio, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M.  Mr. Carroll was born December 20, 1927 in Clio, Alabama to the late Pharow Carroll and Sallie A. Childree Carroll.  He served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Carroll was Vice President of National Tank for many years, and worked with Hayes International.  Mr. Carroll loved gardening, enjoyed friends and playing dominos.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Louise Pybus Carroll; two sisters and four brothers.  Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Paul Spann of Midland City, Nikki and Bill Nunnery of  Pelham, Georgia;  three grandchildren, Kayla Spann, Cody Spann, and Timmy Garrett;  two sisters and three brothers.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.
