OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mr. John Foster Powers, age 76, of Ozark, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at his home.  A memorial service for Mr. Powers will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday, March 23, 2014, from Chalkhead Baptist Church with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.   Mr. Powers was born  in the Ewell Community of Dale County to the late Glenn Foster Powers and Mannie Lois Andrews Powers. After serving honorably in the United States Army and being discharged as a Staff Sergeant E6, “Foster” resided in Atlanta, Georgia for over 50 years.  He retired from the State of Georgia as an accountant.  He was a long time member of Brookhaven Baptist Church in Atlanta.  He leaves to cherish his memory, four sisters; Eldessa (Ralph) Phillips of Skipperville, Sharon Enfinger of Midland City, Emily Maheu of Dothan, Cathy (Fred) Williams of Midland City;  one brother, Stanford (Sherrie) Powers of Ozark.  14 nieces and nephews, 27 great nieces and nephews, and 5 great-great nieces and nephews also survive.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Chalkhead Baptist Church, Challenge to Grow Fund, 495 County Road 35, Ozark, Alabama  36360.  For complete information visit www.HolmanFuneralHome.com
