OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK ~ 334‑774‑5348
Joseph Holman Adams, Jr. (Jay), 56, died Tuesday night, September 8, 2015, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center where he had been a resident since 2006.
A memorial service for Mr. Adams will be held at 3:30 P.M. Friday, September 11, 2015, from the First United Methodist Church of Ozark with Reverend Mike Sigler, Reverend Meghan Kelley, and Reverend Dr. Billy D. Gaither officiating, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 2:30 P.M. until service time.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. (Dot) Adams, he was born March 7, 1959 in Dale County Hospital in Ozark. An invalid since birth due to brain damage, he lived in Tuscaloosa from 1964-1971 at Partlow State School and Hospital. Returning home in 1971, he entered Vivian B. Adams School in 1972, a school bearing the name of his great grandmother.
Survivors in addition to his parents are a brother, John Phillip Adams and a sister Sara Elizabeth Dawkins, both of Ozark, three nephews and a niece, a great nephew and a great niece.
The family has requested the omission of flowers and ask that memorials be made to Vivian B. Adams School, 2047 Stuart Tarter Road, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
