OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mr. Phillip Richard Morse, 74, of Ozark, died early Tuesday morning, June 23, 2015, in Dale Medical Center following a brief illness.  Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Thursday, June 25, 2015, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend William Hart officiating.  Interment will follow with full Military Honors in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Wednesday evening from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.


Mr. Morse was born August 4, 1940 in Bennington, Vermont to the late Richard Francis Morse and Helen Gates Morse, one of thirteen children.  He served in the United States Army for twenty-one years, retiring in 1983. Following his military service, Mr. Morse worked with Matthews Cabinet Shop for twenty years and C and S Doors until his retirement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Mary Parker Logan.


Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Jewell Simmons Morse of Ozark; three daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Eddie Logan, Felecia and Paul Blackmon, Terri and Eric Strickland all of Ozark; his mother-in-law, Mary Thompson;  nine grandchildren, Eddie (Robyn) Logan, Michael (Lauren) Logan, Jenna (Jeremy) Newton, Dana (Eric) Carroll, Garrett Blackmon, Kimber Willis, Harli Willis, Jaylei Strickland and Hannah Strickland; four great grandchildren, Luke Logan, Ayden Newton, Aidan Carroll, and Annabelle Carroll.
